A Look Back Before We Move Forward

We look back at 2011 that produced some great memories.

In February our friend and sponsored artist released a preview of her new CD she is working on along with a youtube video that she had produced to go with the song she was previewing to her fans and we were pleased to bring you that video and song right here on our site.

March brought a great announcement that we had teamed up with Championship Bull Riding and GAC tv to giveaway a custom chopper to one lucky CBR Outlaw member. The chopper debuted in Cheyenne, Wyoming at Frontier Days Rodeo. The bike also made appearances at events in Lubbock, Texas and Bossier City, Louisiana before being awarded to the winner in a special event in the Ft. Worth stockyards.

On April 16th we held a mystery ride in New Braunfels, Texas. Our friends at Lone Star Music in Gruene hosted the starting place and the ride through the hill country ended in the historic downtown area of New Braunfels where we held our grand opening of our Demented Cycles Store. Later in April we attended the 23rd Annual Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival in Stephenville, Texas. 5 days of Texas music, how can you not have fun at that??

May started with a mad dash from LJT to Reckless Kelly's celebrity softball jam in Round Rock, Texas. Many Texas artists along with some Nashville artists and professional athletes took part in playing softball. It benefited local little league associations.

July had us on the road again this time to Nashville, Tennessee where we spent some quality time with American Idol star and Nashville recording artist Bo Bice at his home. We left Bo a bike to ride around Nashville and to some events there. Bo is truly one of a kind and we are blessed to know him.

As we grow some things have to be added and in August we became part of the Average Joe's Entertainment family. We are represented by Rusty Harmon in Nashville. Rusty is known for managing Hootie and The Blow fish and now will be known for Demented Cycles and Bo Bice. He is an integral part of our overall management effort and a great friend. August also brought the announcement of the 2nd annual "Ridin' For a Reason" which this year benefited the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This years artists included Stoney LaRue, Cody Canada and The Departed, Wade Bowen, Brandon Jenkins and Six Market Blvd. We raised over $31,000 beating last years amount.

September came with more great news as it was announced that we had teamed up with Montgomery Gentry, also part of Average Joe's family, to give away a custom chopper to one lucky fan. One "Golden Ticket" was place in the first 100,000 Cd's produced and whoever finds it wins the chopper. The CD, Rebels On The Run, was released October 18th.

She's country tour debuted in Texas in November headlined by our friend Heidi Newfield. There were 3 shows in Texas and we were at 2 of them. The third was at Floores Country store in Helotes. We displayed Heidi's bike "Pinky Tuscadero". Theses were some awesome high energy shows that were well worth the ticket price.

The music video from Montgomery Gentry's new single, "Where I Come From," will world premiere on GAC TV this Saturday, September 10. The clip, which was directed by Potsy Ponciroli and produced by Chris Connor for Team Genius Productions, is one of the most impactful videos ever done by the duo. The video opens with a battlefield scene - could be Iraq, could be Afghanistan - where a wounded soldier, laying on the ground waiting for rescue, is flashing back to the small town he calls home. CBR Bike "Outlaw" and Cheyenne Frontier Days

July 25th we traveled North to Cheyenne Wyoming to the Cheyenne Frontier days. Nicknamed “the Daddy of them all”. The Championship Bull Riding held their bull riding events on the nights of the 25th and 26th. To add to the excitement of the event, we unveiled the CBR Outlaws bike in front of 7000 plus attendees. The bike was rode in by rodeo clown Cody Sosbee. Needless to say he was extremely nervous when he rode it in the first night. We might have had something to do with that as we talked to him just before riding it in and told him that it might be bad if he were to drop it in front of all those people. Can’t imagine why that might make him nervous. The bike will make it’s next public appearance in Lubbock on August 13th at the CBR event and again on August 20th in Bossier City, Louisiana in the Eldorado Casino during the CBR event. We Just Keep On Rolling

Things are really picking up around Demented Cycles. We had a great grand opening at our New Braunfels store. We continue to grow that location by adding new merchandise so if you haven’t been by, you need to go by and visit Jon. He can help plan rides through the hill country and make suggestions of what to see or do in the New Braunfels area.

Bo Bice on Villian

We were lucky enough to go spend some time with Bo Bice at his home in Nashville. You may remember Bo from his time on American Idol where he was runner up to Carrie Underwood. Bo is a salt of the earth person. He is a talented but down to earth individual. He has become one of the family. We dropped off a bike for him to ride during the CMA Music Fest. Catch one of his shows and I think you will agree that he is a great entertainer. He will be a Hat Tricks in Lewisville Texas on July 16^th. See you there.

We are currently building a bike for Championship Bull Riding that airs on Tuesday nights on GAC TV. What Have We Done Now??

What have we done? We have made ourselves more accessible to even more people. On April16th after a great ride through the hill country, we returned to downtown New BraunfelsTexas to the historic district. Afterseeing themajestic country sidewhat could be a better fitting end than holdingthe Grand Opening of Demented Cycles of New Braunfels. Our latest venture will be the flagship of things to come. With new merchandise that can only be acquired from the new store. New helmets, "T" shirts, accessories and hand crafted jewelry from Storey Markcus Designs. Everyone in attendance was amazed at our little shop. Some things not open to the public in the new location are our Marketing offices and the green room and musicians jam room on the second floor. We work with so many Texas music artists that we wanted them to have a place where thy could come jam and write songs with their peers without outside interruptions. The facility there is truly one of a kind and we hope all who read this will take a trip down to check out the new place. We have to thank everyone involved who helped make this happen. Special thanks to Jon Magill and Melissa Webb for all there hard work and carrying my dream from idea to reality.

Championship Bull Riding, GAC TV & Demented Cycles

Demented Cycles has teamed up with Championship Bull Riding(CBR) and GAC TV to build a bike for on lucky person to win. The custom built bike will include the CBR, GAC TV and Demented Cycles logos and will be one mean bike. Tough bull riders and mean bulls can only mean one bad to the bone bike. The bike will be filmed by GAC during the build and will begin the series by following some of the artists that we work with such as Stoney LaRue and Heidi Newfield. The series will be aired during CBR's television broadcast starting May 3rd at 9PM on GAC TV. Check your local cable or satellite provider for channel listing. Andy Carter with CBR says " We are so glad to have you guys on board with us, we are going to have a lot of fun with this promo". The bike will be unveiled to the public on July 25th at the CBR event in Cheyenne Wyoming. You will be able to sign up online to win the bike bike soon on the CBR website (www.cbrbull.com), but until then you can sign up early by attending a CBR event near you. Check their website for details. In addition, we will be doing an online blog through the CBR website as well as GAC TV's website. Once a week we will be on live to answer any questions about the bike or other bikes we build. We feel extremely privileged to be chosen to do this project.

Demented Cycles also announces a mystery ride on April 16th. What is the mystery? The ending location!! The ending location is a closely guarded secret but one that we are very excited about. Well 2011 is here and our calendar is already filling up fast. We spent January 5^th through the 10^th in Steamboat Springs Colorado at Musicfest. It was a working vacation and we really had a good relaxing time hanging out with old and new friends. We are already looking forward to next year.

Our next scheduled company outing at this point is Larry Joe Taylor’s 23^rd annual Texas Music Festival and Chili Cook off in Stephenville Texas April 26^th – 30^th. We have been asked to do something very special this year at the event and you will just have to be there on Wednesday night to see what happens. Stoney plays that night right before Pat Green so who knows what might happen.

On Sunday May 1^st we will be in Round Rock Texas for the Reckless Kelly's Celebrity Softball Jam. Here too we have been asked to do something special and are more than happy to do our part. Proceeds will benefit area non-profits, including South Austin Little League and The Miracle League at Town & Country. Gates open at 1pm and the game is at 2pm with the concert following the game and fireworks display after the concert.Get your tickets here www.rkcsj.org.

May 12^th – 14^th we will be at crude fest in Midland Texas. This will be our first year attending the event and are looking forward to being there. Our sponsored artists Rich O’Toole and Mark McKinney will be playing along with many friends of Demented Cycles.

The next scheduled event comes in August as we travel north to Sturgis. Pride is to be in the international bike builder competition. We are currently working to have more bikes on display at various locations throughout Sturgis. What a great reason to go to Sturgis. Will we see you there?

September brings us back to central Texas for the second annual Stoney LaRue & Demented Cycles Ridin’ For a Reason. Last years event was a great success and we plan on building on that success this year. Stoney’s bike Devastator will be raffled off and his new bike will be unveiled at Luckenback. Raffle tickets will go on sale shortly. All proceeds will go to the Central Texas American Cancer Society. Mark your calendars for September 25^th and come for the ride or the concert or both.

Other things of interest going on, Heidi Newfield will be filming her summer video in February and it will feature her Demented Cycles Motorcycle “Pinky Tuskadaro”. We are working with CBR and GAC on a bike contest that will encompass 8 weeks ending with some lucky winner owning a Demented Cycles motorcycle. Check out the CBR at www.cbrbull.com. If you catch the CBR on GAC you may catch a glimpse of the bike being built.

Time To Catch Up

It’s been a couple of months since my last update and we had some changes around the shop in Bridgeport and at our offices in New Braunfels. Once again we are moving ahead fast and furious so sorry for the delay in updating our blog.

At our shop in Bridgeport, we have completed our 1000 square foot expansion. The new expansion will house our welding and fabrication shop where we will be building Demented motorcycle frames and tanks. Joining our team is Jacob Morris who is a certified welder and fabricator. We are proud to have Jacob on our team.

In New Braunfels, We welcome Jon Magill to our organization. Jon was Rich O’Toole’s tour manager and has worked with numerous artists. Jon has a strong background in sales and marketing. He will be helping out with artist relations and business development as well working closely with our marketing and public relations guru Melissa Webb. There will be some big news coming from his work so check back here or our Facebook page for more announcements as thing s develop from that great office.

During the last 2 months, we have been making news and plans. In October we were featured in a half page article in the Wise County Messenger business edition. This article made quite a splash in the local area. We designed a trailer wrap for our sponsored artist Mark McKinney. Be looking to see it going down the road in the near future and coming to venue near you. In January we will be in Steamboat Colorado for the Music Fest, then we will be heading to Nashville to hang out with our friends and artists to show off some bikes and do some riding with them. We have also guaranteed our spot at Larry Joe Taylor Texas Music Festival in Stephenville at the end of April. On May 1^st we will be in Round Rock Texas for the Reckless Kelly Celebrity Softball Jam. We will have bikes on display and there will be some other surprises while we are there. Come out to one of these events and see us. We don’t bite, honest!

In November we entered 4 bikes in the Progressive International Motorcycle Show. Top 5 places go to Sturgis to be in the show there that is the culmination of several shows from around the country. Pride took 4^th place and therefore we will be in Sturgis in the show. We will also have bikes on display in some other places in Sturgis. More on that to come later.

On a much more somber note, we support the American Cancer Society because cancer has touched our family several times. Once again it has hit close to home. On December 4^th, Laura’s stepfather lost his battle with cancer. May God grant her and her family the peace and strength through this tough time. He was laid to rest December the 8^th

Ridin' For a Reason, A Big Success

What a great weekend. We arrived in New Braunfels late on Friday night and got settled into the hotel. Saturday morning we jumped on the bikes and made the ride from Gruene to Luckenback. While at Luckenback we met Abbey the event coordinator and got the scoop on what was going to be happening the next day. Then back on the bikes to get back to New Braunfels. On the way back it decided to rain.....4 separate times. So we decided to stop in at the Pheonix Saloon and drop off a couple of the bikes and get some chili. After a ride in the rain, it was just what we needed. Then off to the hotel and back to the Pheonix for our pre-party for all the sponsors, organizers and artists who were already in town. Stoney Larue and most of the Arsenals showed up as there show in San Angelo had cancelled due to rain. Lincoln Durham took the stage and put on a one man show that had everyone talking. Pure raw talent one person said and we all agreed.

Sunday was the big day. Registration started at Gruene Harley Davidson with

Wade Bowen, Willie and Cody Braun doing an amazing acoustic show. Then time for Stoney to come out and speak to the riders followed by the captain of the local HOG of Gruene Harley Davidson to instruct every one on the procedures for riding in a large group and the staging of the bikes for the ride. Kick stands went up at 2PM and away we went with police escort. Police escort is great, you get to blow through all the

stop lights. We went out on Fm 306 to Purgatory road then over to FM 32 for a ride down the devils back bone through some of the best riding areas in the country. At some point we had a bike die and the rider moved to the edge of the road where he was rear ended by another rider. Both riders walked away with some road rash and bumps and bruises (their egos suffered the most damage). The Demented Peterbilt and trailer picked up the riders and the bikes. The The rest of the bikers arrived in Luckenback to what was described as a hero's welcome as people lined the road to welcome them to Luckenback.

There were many things happening in Luckenback. Raffle sales for a stone engraved with the ride's logo and date, T shirt sales, memorable pictures that part of the proceeds were donated by Mike Galloway in the memory of Bill Galloway who died of cancer. Onstage performing at Luckenbach were Mike Mancy, Midnight River Choir, Jimmy Lafave and Chris Knight. All performed great shows for the audience. Then the live auction, 1 signed Fender acoustic guitar that went for $500, a painted helmet with the ride logo signed by the artists went for $500 and a customed painted Fender Telecaster with the ride logo and signed by the artists that went for $3000. It was time for Stoney LaRue and The Arsenals to take the stage. They performed for 2 1/2 hours and really rocked the place. They played a wide variety of music from some of their older songs to Merle Haggard to some of the new songs from the next CD that they are working on.

Having Some Fun With Good Friends

Saturday night we made our way to Tyler, our home town, to meet up with Nashville recording artist Heidi Newfield. The heat was almost unbearable. We unloaded Heidi's new pink, yes it is pink, and let hertake it for a spin in the parking lot. Dave, her tour manager chased her around the parking lot with a helmet that she never put on. She did fine except for one mishap when she laid the bike down and ripped the license plate holder off. To put her at ease, I gave it to her and told her it was her first trophy. After that we put the bike on display and we settled in to enjoy the show. That little lady can rock a stage and bring a crowd to life.

Sunday night I met up with Rich O'Toole and Mark McKinney at the Hyatt Place Hotel in the historic Ft. Worth Stockyards. No we weren't there for shows, we were them to send them to school. Thanks to Ray with Moto-Ed.com, we set up a private motorcycle safety coarse so Rich and Mark could get their license to legally drive a motorcycle.

Monday started early with a quick breakfast at the hotel and then off to class. After introductions and Ray telling them he really didn't follow music much, we got started on the class room part. The guys did fine. Then we got on the motorcycles to begin their riding education. I though to myself "this should be really good". I was quite surprised on how fast they picked it up. By the end of the class they were performing as well as I was....almost. I have been riding for 10 years. After

the mandatory riding was done we took the bikes up and down the parking lot for awhile. Then Ray gave them their certificates. Their smiles seemed to be permanent.

Many thanks to Ray with Moto-Ed.com for the patience and the class. We recommend everyone take the Motorcycle Safety Training coarse and hope you will look Ray up to do the training.

The next day it was off to the Texas DPS office to get the guys license. Of coarse they had to take the written

which I am proud to say they passed after some nail biting and heavy concentration. They are now official and ready to ride some choppers.

Well we arrived at the shop and showed them around. They got a good look a the different styles of bikes. I don't think they ever stopped smiling the whole time. Then we got down to business of talking about designing their bikes. Even I can't wait to see these bikes. They are going to be awesome. Along with some other

projects we all brain stormed about that will incorporate music, video and our shop. You'll just have to wait for the details on that later. It was time to ride some choppers. Charlie was on Pride, Mark was on Reaper, Rich on Envy and me following and keeping an eye on them from ......well... my HD. We took a great ride through the country. The guys couldn't stop talking about the ride. They are offically hooked.

Next weekend is the Stoney LaRue & Demented Cycles "Ridin' For a Reason" starting in Gruene at Gruene Harley Davidson and ending in Luckenbach. Get your tickets now at www.ridinforareason.com. FREDERICKSBURG, TX – August 12, 2010 - Stoney LaRue & Demented Cycles announce their 1st annual "Ridin’ for a Reason" celebrity motorcycle ride & concert Sunday September 26th.　 Gruene Harley-Davidson (1288 Loop 337 New Braunfels, TX 78130) will host the start of the ride where registration will begin at noon.　 During registration, to help kick off the ride, there will be live acoustic performances by Willy & Cody Braun of Reckless Kelly as well as another Texas Music Red Dirt favorite to be announced soon.　　The ride will end at Luckenbach Texas (412 Luckenbach Town Loop Fredericksburg, TX 78624) where riders and concert attendees will enjoy performances by Micky & Gary Braun of Micky & the Motorcars and other surprise guests. 　Stoney will close out the show with a full band performance that will combine the rootsy, emotionally honest sound of country with the beer-drinking swagger of heartland rock and a dash of the moody undercurrents of the blues.
Stoney & Demented Cycles are committed to giving back. "Ridin’ for a Reason" is their way of creating a fun & entertaining way to get people involved with supporting the Central Texas American Cancer Society, and an easy way for everyone to show that they care about the lives touched by cancer.
Demented Cycles owners Charlie and Kevin Russell have had their fair share of dealings with cancer. Their father passed away after a long battle with cancer. The American Cancer Society made it possible without any fanfare or miles of red tape for the senior Mr. Russell upon his request, to be home with his family when his time came. In addition to their father, Charlie and Kevin have lost two uncles, three aunts and their grandmother to cancer.
Demented Cycles teamed up with Texas Music/Red Dirt artist Stoney LaRue in 2009. With Stoney’s help, Demented built a custom chopper that he will ride for two years and then auction off.　 The proceeds of the auction will be donated to the American Cancer Society. When Demented Cycles told Stoney that auctioning his custom bike would benefit this charity, he immediately joined in on the effort.

Demented Momentum

Well it's been very hectic over the last few weeks. Unveiled a bike for Brian Doty of Extreme Outdoor Adventure TV, showed up at Lone Star Music and showed off the bikes while Lincoln Durham played, did a photo shoot with Rich O'Toole and "Envy", we spent 3 days on the road to and from Colorado, displayed "Pride", "Envy" and Stoney's bike "Devestator" at a post Texas Rangers game concert with Stoney LaRue and have added yet another great artist to line up of sponsored artist. Yeah, that's all just a blur. I think we had a good time in there somewhere.

The next couple of months promise to be just as hectic especially as we head toward September. Mark you calendars now and get ready for the ride of the year. The ride will start in Gruene Texas (New Braunfels) at Grune Harley Davidson and will end in Luckenbach with a concert featuring Stoney LaRue and friends. It's Summer and Things Are Heating Up!!

Summer has arrived and things are getting hot a Demented

Cycles. In May we started a sponsorship with Rich O'Toole

kicking it of on May 18th at Billy Bob's Texas in the historic

Ft. Worth Stockyards. Thanks to all the folks over there

for a great night. Our friend Robert Gallager once again

took care of the Demented gang and our newest and his

band. "Envy" was on display and really looked good under

the lights there.

In June we welcome another artist to our list of sponsored

acts. Lincoln Durham will be releasing his debut album

produced by Ray Wylie Hubbard and George Reiff. His

deep bluesy sound is something that will draw you in and

hold on to you. We are excited to be working with this

new up and coming artist. We will be at LoneStar

Music on June 27th with Lincoln as he plays an acoustic

set and yes we will be bringing some of the show bikes.

Come out and meet Lincoln and the Demented gang

from 1 -4 PM.

We are working very diligently on a very important

event for September. This event will take place on the

26th which will include a bike ride from Gruene Hall

in New Braunfels to Luckenbach. The event is called

"Stoney LaRue and Demented Cycles - Ridin' For A

Reason." Additional artists will be announced later.

All proceeds will benefit The American Cancer Society.

Heidi Is Blown Away

After many months of planning, the day has finally come to deliver Heidi Newfield's new Demented Cycle ride. In front of a large media contingent with Storme Warren of GAC and Sirus/XM radio station The Highway, Heidi's bike was unveiled. The bike a prostreet style bike done in bubble gum pink and adorned with specially cut wheels and rotors, a primary with Heidi's name cut into it and backlit with red LED lights. When in Nashville in October, we were given a harmonica that Heidi played and was incorporated into the bike on the shift linkage. The paint scheme was designed in part by Heidi with special touches added by air brush artist Andy Kenney. After the unveiling Heidi said "What a gorgeous bike, I am beyond thrilled. Words cannot explain!!"

The bike will be on display at the Sommet Center in Nashville for the next month. We will have more pictures of the bike later in the gallery section of our website.

Making Tracks in April

Well April is here and it seems we are going to be on the road a lot this month. The second of the "Seven Deadly Sins" bike is complete. Envy came off the lift and fired right up. What a ride it is. Pictures will be available soon, until then, make the pilgrimage to Bridgeport and check it out.

With Envy complete, we move into the final build of Heidi Newfield's bike. It is just 3 days from being complete and road ready. Delivery will be in Nashville on this Friday, April 9th. The bike will loaded Thursday morning and driven to Nashville. Unveiling of the bike will take place at the Sommet Center which is next door to the Ryman Auditorium (the original Grand Ole Opry). It will take place in front numerous media outlets including (we're told) GAC. Storme Warren of GAC and XM/Sirius will be the master of ceremonies. Charlie, Laura and Melissa will be representing Demented. Not all of the Demented family will be able to attend, but we'll be there in spirit.

On the 19th, we load up the bikes, buses, shirts, beer and whatever we will need to survive for a week at Larry Joe Taylor's Music Festival and Chili Cook off in Stephenville. Come on down and join us. We will have some special guests in the Demented Cycle tent. Never know who might show up in there. That should do it for April. I think after all that it will be time to catch our breathe and get ready for the next event we are currently planning and it is a big one.

2010 Is Here!!

2010 has come in with a big bang. I was able to make it to Steamboat Springs for the annual Texas Music Fest put on by Dickson Productions. Yes I managed to survive. It was a great time hanging out with all the artists, skiing and other past times. The shows were great and hanging out with Randy Wells of the Chicago Cubs was a blast. I tried to get Willie Braun of Reckless Kelly to let me play his guitar on stage, he was good with it as long as I let him come build a bike. We never did get that resolved. Look for the entire Demented Cycles team to be there in full force next year.

Looking forward, we have a packed year coming at us. The Heidi Newfield build is in major overdrive. It is scheduled for delivery and unveiling on March 26 in front of a media mad house. GAC will be on hand and we will possibly be sitting down to talk to them about the build and it's donation to charity. Looks like we may be going national. The bike will remain on display for 2 weeks at the Sommet Center, next door to the Ryman Auditorium.

Currently we are getting ready for Larry Joe Taylor's Musicfest at Melody Mountain Ranch in Stephenville. We will have a tent setup andwill have some of the artists coming by. Look for one of the promotional ads for the TV show that we are currently filming up on the big screen at the festival While at the festival, We will be getting a guitar signed by all the artists performing there this year and will be raffling that off for the Relay For Life. Tickets $3 each or 4 tickets for $10. Tickets are on sale now and can be bought at our store here in Bridgeport. Come on by and get yours, it gives you a good reason to come see our creations in person.

We have some really exciting news developing and will announce the details as soon as everything has been finalized. All I can tell you right now is, "I just want to ride."

Merry Christmas

It is that time of year when we all count the many blessings we have received through the year. This year we are truly blessed to have met so many great new friends. The year has taken us to many new places and allowed us to do things that we would have never thought been possible. We are thankful for people like Enzo Divincenzo with 377 Management our good friend and our "Nashville Management", Stoney LaRue and the Arsenals, Heidi Newfield and Brian Doty of Extreme Outdoor TV. We are also thankful for all the other people we have met and the list is to long to mention, but we are grateful for your friendship and continued support. Life is not measured by the amount of money you have but by the people you have in your life and we are extremely wealthy by that count. Thank you all!!

This will probably be the last post for the year, burt we will be out on the road starting again in January. I will be in Steamboat Springs, Colorado for Musicfest and, as always, we will be at Larry Joe Taylor's Texas Musicfest in April. Be sure to check back on our schedule and come out and see us because we want to see you.

Let us not forget our men and women in uniform who volunteer to do our country's bidding and keep us save and free. Say a prayer for them this Christmas as the world is not a safe place for them as they are stationed around the world fighting for you and me.

We just keep picking up steam around here. If you didn't see the promo when the home page opened then you need to go back and check it out. We have officially started filming our first TV episode. This could be dangerous if you know anything about us because we never know what is going to happen next around here. The episode will cover the build of Heidi Newfields bike. It will feature the bike going together from mock up to finished product, interviews of ourselves and of Heidi Newfield and the delivery of the bike to Heidi in front of thousands of fans at a place to be determined as soon as the bike is completed. We spent half a day at Heidi's house in Nashville brain storming on the design of her bike. We are all excited to be working with Heidi and can't wait to ride with her. She will ride the bike for 2 years, it will be featured in one of her videos and then it will be auctioned off. All proceeds will benefit a charity of her choosing.

Keep coming back, we keep having new and interesting things come our way and we want to share them with you as soon as we can.

Nashville in the Rearview

Have you ever had a time in your life when you believe the things going on around you are surreal? We most certainly did in Nashville. Sunday morning we showed up at Cool Springs Harley Davidson in Franklin, Tennessee for the charity ride with Dierks Bentley. Just a small town bike builder coming to hang out and ride for a good cause and to ride with some great friends. It was like dropping a boulder in a five gallon bucket of water, we made a rather large splash!! Our bikes were like no others there and they drew a lot of attention. We started the ride at 1 pm in the VIP section of the ride. Those who rode were like a who's who in the music industry. Of coarse there was Dierks leading the way and in tow Winona Judd, Darius Rucker, Stoney Larue and the rock group Stained to name a few. Then there we were right in the mix. The ride lasted an hour going throught the hills and following the winding roads of the countryside that is Tennessee. We ended up going throught the historic Music Row of Nashville before ending up at the riverfront.

At the river front we were entertained by some great acts in the music business. Winona Judd, Michelle Branch, Stoney Larue, Eric Church, Darius Rucker, Dierks Bentley and a surprise guest who sang a couple with Dierks, Brad Arnold of 3 Doors Down. It was truely a great concert to see. Hanging around the stage area (having VIP status has it's percs) we had out picture taken with Darius Rucker and had a surprise visit by Dierks himself. As we sat in a coach next to the stage talking with our Nashville manager and friend Enzo, Dierks came in and sat down. We spent about fifteen minutes with him and I have to tell you he is the most down to earth guy you will ever meet. We plan on being in Pheonix for the next benefit and hope to get to visit with him again. By the time we loaded the bikes it was time for some sleep. We blew off the rest of the night and returned to the hotel.

Monday found us having lunch with Tommy Garris at Judge Bean's Bar-b-que. Hearing how Tommy worked his way into management is inspiring. We've made Tommy part of the Demented family, he just doesn't know it yet. From there it was off to Heidi Newfield's house where we spent 4 great hours visiting with her and kicking around ideas for her new bike. We discussed everything it seemed from her days with Trick Pony to today. We even got to see her ACM award and her American Music Award and hear some cuts from her new CD. Absolutley a delight to be around and we are extremely glad to be working with her.

Now, you may think it can't get better, but it does. We were invited to a private party downtown at The Stage on Broadway that was put on by 360 Artists. 360 Artists is a booking agency. They show cased some of their talent. It started with Whiskey Myers, Clay Walker, Leann Womack, Randy Rogers, Wade Bowen, Josh Abbott, and Miranda Lambert. We were introduced to Miranda by the founder and CEO of 360. Also there in the crowd was Luke Perry and Randy Howser. What a great ending to a great trip.

Tuesday it was back in the trucks and back on the road. We'll be back, as our Nashville management says, "you have to stay in front of these people". So look for more interesting news about us and Nashville.

Finally in Nashville

What started out as a pleasant drive turned into torture on the highway. We left out of Bridgeport with descent weather until we got into Oklahoma City. We were on our way to pick up Stoney's bike when heavy rains hit. We quickly loaded up the bikes at Stoney's house, getting totally soaked in the process, and headed west on I-40. We drove for 6 hours in the rain before it finally quit in Arkansas. After 11 hours on the road, we shut down in Conway for some rest only to wake up the next morning to heavy rain again. It stayed with us all the way to Nashville. After the drive we all wanted to check into the hotel and get some rest.

Today we found the Harley shop in Franklin where the ride is supposed to start from on Sunday. Farther south from Nashville and where we are staying. From there we went downtown Nashville to the Oktoberfest that was going on. After walking around in german town, we caught the last part of Sunny Sweeny's set. Imagine coming all the way to Nashville to catch a Texas act. She put on quite a show and we were glad to have seen her perform.

Tonight we are having dinner with our Nashville manager and friend Enzo. Who knows what will happen after that. One thing you have to love about Enzo is his spontaneity. Tomorrow is the big ride with Dierks Bentley where they are expecting over 500 bikes. We will be riding with Stoney Larue, his bass player Jesse, keyboard player Steve, lead guitar player Kevin, Heidi Newfield (who rearranged her schedule to be with us)and her manager Tommy Garris. After the concert we have been invited to show the bikes downtown at The Stage where another Texas act will be performing, the Eli Young Band. I'm really looking forward to this since I haven't seen them in a while.

Past, Present and Future

What great time we had in Nacgdoches. Thanks to everyone who came by to see our bikes and visit with us. We made quite a few new friends there and look forward to seeing all of them again some where down the road.

With Nacogdoches behind us now, we have started preparing for our next trip. Tomorrow we leave for Nashville to ride in Dierks Bentley's charity ride called Miles and Music for kids. We will be leaving early to go through Edmund Oklahoma to pick up Stoney Larue's bikes and then try to make Little Rock before shutting down for the night. The next day should put us in Nashville around noon. Why are we getting there so early you ask, we have a lot of meet and greets to do when we get there. It is all so very surreal to have country music stars want to meet you. We are still trying to grasp this concept.

Things just keep picking up speed like a snowball rolling down hill. We are currently in discussions on doing a pilot tv series about us building bikes for country artists. We'll keep you posted as things develop. Who knows, you may see us on tv some day doing some ridiculous things but building some incredible bikes.

We are so blessed to have been given the opportunities that are coming our way. It is 5 AM and we are headed to Nacogdoches to the Oldest Town Texas bike rally. This week has been absolutely amazing. Our friends at BooKoo and Fire It Up energy drinks stopped by the shop and set up a cooler loaded with energy drinks. If you haven’t tried these energy drinks, you are missing out. I have never been a fan of energy drinks, until now. These are awesome and we highly recommend them. This show will have the first look at the newest bike and the first of the seven deadly sins’ line of bikes “Pride”. It has over 100 hours of air brush work on the paint, an S&S 113 CuIn engine, saber tooth front end and right side tranny brake. I could go on and on, but words don’t do it justice. You just have to see this bike to believe it. There are so many things in the works that I could go on all day, but I won’t go into detail yet. Being a little superstitious, I don’t want to jinx anything. As soon as we finalize things, we’ll let you know right here so check back often. That’s it for right now, someone has to keep Charlie between the lines.

Riding Like Rock Stars

Thursday turned out to be quite a day. We loaded up Stoney's bike, The Colonel and Artic Horse and headed to Edmund OK where we were going to drop off Stoney's bike at his house and take a little inaugurating ride. After arriving and unloading the bikes, it was decided that we would be riding to Newkirk OK where Stoney would be opening for Cross Canadian Ragweed. Stoney on Devastator, Charlie on The Colonel, me on Arctic Horse, Jess Fritz on his Harley and Kevin Webb on Stoney's Harley took off for an afternoon on the road. First stop was for fuel, had to have those tanks full for this ride. After the top off, it was into downtown Edmund and another stop at Braums for a little lunch and then on to the open road. It turned out to be a perfect day for a ride. Temperature was about 80 - 85 degrees and sunny. The drive north was great as we experienced the sights and smells of the great outdoors. From the smell of cut grass to fresh sweet hay and yes of coarse the occasional cow pasture. Upon arriving in Newkirk, we were welcomed at the venue like returning heros. What a great event and great people. Stoney took the stage and played a energetic set as Cody Canada tried to distract him toward the end of the set by rolling apples out to t Stoney's feet. Stoney took it all in stride and yes later returned the favor. After hanging out with the bands until about 1 am, we headed to the hotel. The next morning, we met up with Stoney, Jess and this time Steve Littleton at the local Braums. (I think I see a pattern developing in their eating habits) Then it was off on a crazed ride back to Edmund. All in all, I would have to say that has got to be the best ride we've made to date. Great bike, great weather and great friends. We are truely blessed to know these guys and look forward to years of riding together.

Stoney' Surprise in the pines!!

What a great weekend!! Friday we traveled to Nacogdoches Texas for Stoney LaRue's Part in the Pines music festival. We showed up and got the lay of the land and got the royal treatment by Randy Smith of Smith Music Group. We presented Enzo of 377 Management with his new bike the Artic Horse, a prostreet like no other. Needless to say, he was a little choked up as he had no idea it was coming.

With the bikes locked up for the night, we checked into the hotel and prepared for a night on the town with Randy, Stoney's and our Nashville manager Enzo and the rest of the staff from the event at the Anex for a before the show party. Whiskey Myers played and really rocked the house. Keep an eye and ear out for theses guys as they make their name known in the Texas music scene.

Early Saturday morning we showed up at the festival grounds and loaded Stoney's bike into an unmarked box near the stage where it was kept all day under lock and key. Only a handful of people knew it was there and they were all sworn to secrecy. Now the waiting began.

At 7 PM Stoney arrived at our tent to sign Autographs and we had to

tell him a little lie to maintain the secret. Our story was that the paint set had just been completed and we just couldn't get it done in time. Stoney being the great guy that he is, very graciously accepted the news. As a show of good faith, we presented him with his Demented Cycles leather jacket. All was going as planned. He still had no idea!!!

Now, the plan. After discussions with the event manager, Stage manager, Enzo and Stoney's tour manager Dusty we decided when Stoney finished his last song prior to his encore, we would load the bike on the side stage and block it from view with a large equipment box. The band was made aware of what was going to happen and to be prepared for the bikes arrival on stage. We would also have a wireless mic next to the motor so when it started off stage, everyone would hear it.

When the last song, Oklahoma was played and the drummer hit the last beat, we fired up the engine, rolled the box out of the way where a very surprised Stoney saw for the first time his new motorcycle. The look on his face was priceless. The plan had worked out perfectly.

Thanks to everyone who was involved in making this happen, Smith Music Group, 377 Management, Brian Doty for providing us with a great film crew, Brad Hughes and James Trawick with Playbook Produtions (we're waiting on the video), our public relations manager Melissa Webb, Andy Kenney who is the greatest in house painter anyone could ask for, Stoney's wife Kandace who had the toughest job of all by knowing but not telling, Stoney's band, Robert from Billy Bob's and all our and Stoney's friends and families for secrecy and patients.

Another Exciting Week

When we started this, never in a million years did we ever think we would be doing some of the things we are doing or meeting the people we are meeting. This past weekend we had the privilege to meet Gary Allan. What a great guy. He is full of energy and very personable. We look forward to working with him over the next few months while we build his bike. After meeting with him, we were treated to a great concert. He really is an entertainer.

We forgot to mention that we attended a bike show in Decatur, Texas on the 4th of July. We took three bikes to the show and yes we one 3 top 10 trophies. What's Been Happening at Demented Cycles

It has been awhile since we updated everyone what is happening at Demented Cycles and for good reasons.

First, the build continues on the Stoney LaRue bike named "Devastator". This is one bad bike.
It is in final build now and it is really looking good. We would post pictures, but our policy is no pictures from here on out and no visitors are allowed to see the build. This adds an element of surprise for when it is unvailed on the........Nope not gonna tell you when (sorry Stoney).

Heidi Newfield was to be here on July 20th, however her father has taken seriuosly ill and will have to reschedule to a later date. Our hearts and prayers are with her and her family during this tough time in their lives.

Our retail store here in Bridgeport continues to add product lines. We are pleased to announce we are now a retailer for Amsoil products, a leader in synthetic oils and gear lubes as well as a multitude of other products for autos, motorcycles and watercraft.

Our client list continues to grow and we continue to gain notariaty. We are now the offical bike builder for Brian Doty. Brian is the host and star of Extreme Outdoor Adventures TV. You can catch his shows on The Pursuit Channel and the Outdoors channel. Check your cable or satellite provider for dates and times that his show airs. He also has a syndicated radio show. Contact your local radio stations and request it. Brian plans on filming the build of his bike as it progresses. Us, tv stars..........nah, but it should be interesting.

We are headed out of town again, this time to Miami, Oklahoma to meet with Gary Allen. We will be attending his show there and be backstage to hang out with him and Stoney LaRue's manager Enzo DeVincenzo of 377 Management.

Just when we thought we had a large enough facility, we've out grown it again. We are currently in the process of adding on to the building which will increase the shop area by 1/3. That's great news, bad news is it still isn't big enough. So we continue to grow.

That's all that we can officially tell you about at this time, but there is a lot of great things in the works and we can't wait to tell you about them.

We keep growing by leaps and bounds and this week has been no exception. With the completion of the new showroom, we are pleased to announce that we have become an authorized dealer for Kuryakyn accessories. Kuryakyn is a leader in aftermarket accessories for motorcycle enthusiast. We are very proud to be representing them and their products.

We are always looking for new ways to create great looking bikes. Our next line of bikes is a new endeavor for us and is in a section of the motorcycle industry that is seeing double digit growth. We are excited to announce that we are now an authorized dealer for MotorTrike. We will be able to convert existing motorcycles and will also be building some truly demented custom trikes. Demented Cycles, MotorTrike and our new in house paint department provided by Hot Shot Kustoms will be producing some amazing trikes.

This week has brought a lot of changes around the shop. Demented now offers full service on all bikes. Need an oil change or a new engine or anything in between, we now can do it for you. On top of starting service work, we have moved our painter in house and are proud to have Andy Kenney and Hot Shot Kustoms here with us. 2 Events, One Day and One Happy Winner!!

We were happy to finally get to have our ribbon cutting and would like to thank all who attended the event. The Bridgeport Mayor, Chamber of Commerce, The Economic Development Corporation and its board members as well as many local buisiness leaders.

We attended the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life in Decatur, Texas where at 10 PM Charlie drew the winning name for the 2009 Custom Chopper named "Temptation". The winner was Michael Gann from Alvarado, Texas. When first called we received his voice mail. Just a few minutes later he called back and was in total disbelief. He had to take a moment, hang up and call back just make sure. His son later explained why he hung up the phone the first time, because he was jumping up and down.

Bright and early Saturday he showed up at the Demented Cycles shop to pick up his new bike. He said " I never even thought I had a chance to win, I just bought the tickets to support the Cancer Society." He also went on to say " After the phone call, I didn't sleep at all last night." An avid biker himself, he couldn't have been more proud of the bike.

Congratulations Michael and thanks to all who supported the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life by purchasing tickets for the chopper. We raised over $22,000 for a very good cause.

We got to spend the day with Mark Mckinney over at County Line BBQ in Austin yesterday. What a great time and great food. Mark was so much fun to shoot and hang out with. His new single is so good. We are truly happy to have been asked to be apart of this photo shoot.

We just got back from this year's Larry Joe Taylor Music Fest and boy was it a blast. We all need some sleep and some hang over remedies! Where the heck in my bloody mary.... anyway... it will be awhile til my head recovers from motorcycles and music!

Five days of concerts, BBQ, great people and sunshine.. this is how you get your summer started! This years artist line-ups included, Cross Canadian Ragweed, The Gourds, Randy Rogers, Johnny Cooper, Ray Wylie Hubbard, The Band of Heathens and The Tejas Brothers just to name a few of the 44 bands making face this year.

We met up with some amazing bands and saw some kick ass performances. I think our favorite show was The Tejas Brothers performing with Augie Meyers (from The Texas Tornado's). Also, can't leave out Johnny Copper, this kid blew me away!! I've never seen anyone that comfortable on a stage and had the whole fest up on their feet singing along. I sure could see him on a Demented Cycle!

Sunday, this Festival came to an end ( :( ) so we packed everything up, but not before selling a ton of raffle tickets for the Bike we are giving away for the American Cancer's Relay for Life. These LJT people were all so great about giving to a good cause. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
We can't wait til next year so we do this all over again!!!!!

Relay For Life

Demented Cycles will be raffeling off a custom built Chopper with 100% proceeds going to the American Cancer Society’s “Relay For Life” in May of 2009. This amazing bike will be ready for viewing the third week in Decemenber 2008. The raffel tickets will be available to purchase at www.dementedcycles.com for $25 by Christmas December 2008. In May 2009, this chopper called “Tempation” will be giving away to one lucky winner at “The Relay For Life” event in Bridgeport TX, just north of Ft. Worth TX.
